Happy New Year

Happy New Year!!!

May all your wishes come true in 2011, a brand new year.

I'm rather simple minded, I had not much plans for the next coming year. Probably, hoping to chill out with friends at MBS or more picnic and outings. Short and long getaway would be the best. I wanted to go USA, Osaka or Hokaido would be good too. I wish to earn alot of money (Who doesn't?). See people whom I hate or hate me, less often (My lifetime wish). I don't like to be an eyesore of people nor I wish disgusting people to an eyesore(Logical???). One last thing, more time to sleep. It's my favourite past time.

Alright, I shall end here.

Have a nice day.

Cheers,
Jeanne

The final reward

27th December 2010

Here I go, bringing my students for a short outing. I brought them to Pastamania and let them order anything they want. It seems like they had a scrumptious meal.

Photobucket
I brought them to watch Guliver's Travel 3D. See how nice I am. Haha, many onlookers must be wondering if were my children. Eh eh, no alright. I bought them Nachos and Popcorn set during the movie. Anyway, they were rather independent. I need not sent them up and down for toilet trip.

After the movie, Ed met a disaster. An oncoming woman was vommiting badly. Some of the yuckies spilt onto Ed's pant. That's when everyone refused to sit with him in cab. He cleaned up himself and we went to the arcade. We were stucked there for nearly 2 hrs.  We even took neoprints. Haha.

Photobucket

We played rounds of tic tac toe and no one could beat me. We finally came to an end of the day. I hope the children enjoyed this outing. Stay tuned to the next post.

Good night everyone.

Cheers,
Jeanne

Fate that brought us together

26th December 2010

It's 1 day after Christmas. Off I go for this long lost gathering. It's with my bestie in primary school and my best pal in secondary school. Apparently, both of them know each other and they happened to be in the same class. I truly believe it's fate that brought us together.

Everyone was late for the outing. Well, the main reason was OVERSLEPT. Haha, Meiwen and I bought movie tickets for Focker upon reaching. Unfortunately, Qinling had watched it. Tsk tsk, who's at fault. Tham Meiwen. Hahaha, pushed the blame to her. In the end, we caught Yogi Bear. Poor mw got to watch it again.

It's been a long time since I watched such "cartoon". Whatever you called that, I just called that a cartoon with animated bear roaming around (Haha).

We went to Kbox. It seems like they were about to complete their renovation. They should have renovate the room alittle, I mean it's so *ahem* rundown. Don't you agree?

Photobucket

Photobucket
It's freezing cold. They wore thinner than I did (So obvious) and I turned out to be the one trembling in cold.

Photobucket

As usual, we behave the same way like in the past. Haha, not much changes in characteristic except dressing. We were all grown up, it's time to get vain. Else, we'll be left on the shelf. Check out what it means if you are clueless. Haha.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Next, we went to Manhattan Fish Market for dinner. Meiwen's treat, it's lovely. We ordered Seafood Platter for 2 and some weird shrooms that taste good though ( I forgotten what it's called). We had some catch up around the table. Crapping about nonsense as usual. Ql and I always thought mw had been changing bf from time to time. Mw just denied it, but it's a FACT. Hahaha, I mean at least MORE than us.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
A hungry ghost surfaced. She ate once the food was served. Haha.

Photobucket
We shopped around, and unfortunately mw lost her atm card. Poor thing, she called up to cancel her card. She got to make a $5 replacement card. I felt sad for her. We bought movie tickets and the time was getting near. We were supposed to watch it at The Cathay, yet we weren't in a rush. Not even a tiny little bit.

Mw still got the mood to buy kimchi, while ql and I went Aldo to see shoes. We set off of the movie on the exact time that the movie started. Amazing! Mw and I walked as fast as lightning while ql was trying her best to catch up. She was wearing slipper and she wore slippers. It's not logical at all for her to be the slowest. She then told me it's explainable since her slippers fall off easily. Haha, that's when I finally got it.

We took a bus home, talked like loudspeakers as if no one was around. Everyone stayed in Bukit Panjang. Yay, Bukit Panjang is the best place ever. Okok, I shall end here. Stay tuned for the next post then.

Cheers,
Jeanne

From time to time

Photobucket

It's a tiring day for me. I brought my students out yesterday. Oh, I promised to bring them out if they managed to hit my target. Apparently, they did. What a relief! One of them scored 2 A's while the other got into the top 5 classes. As for the other lovely, she managed to improve from a fail to a pass. They deserved some treats. I brought them to Pastamania since they requested for it. Brought them to watch Guliver's Travel 3D ( $11 bucks each can kill me). I even brought them to arcade. We played like some serious bonkers. At times, I suspect if I'm a teacher. We took quite a number of pictures, shall upload them some day.

Haha, I had massive updates. It's like I'm blogging almost everyday. Hey hey, that's not my job. My job is to TEACH not to blog. So I'm not gonna blog that often recently. Most likely, I'll just post something every 3 days or probably a week. Haha, it was now then I realised I'm still stucked at Day 3 for my Korea Trip. Alright, stay tuned.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Oh ya, this coming Thursday, I'll be going to have a picnic with Tard. Yeah, she will prepare the food solely. Hey, I did not torture her. She dare not try my cooking. Mmm, so far no food poisoning cases. Hopefully, there won't be any in future too.

My finance is BACK TO SQUARE again.

Why?

I bought a new oven at $29. It's $49.00 originally and it's just $29 now. I got a great deal. It's as good as picking up a piece of gold from the ground. Tard knows my finance the best. I told her my entire assets and I seek for her opinion. Haha, she told me to get it since I'm broke anyway. Sounds true. I heed her advice.

Shall do more baking if I had the time.

Shall end here. Good day guys.

Cheers,
Jeanne

Let it snow...

25th December 2010

Merry Christmas to Everyone.

I had a super tiring day as I've been slogging like a cow in a Chocolate Factory last night. Tard and I nearly gone nuts making chocolates. She squeezed the burning hot melted chocolate into tiny cups while I decorated the chocolate with my hand. It's damn disgusting when you looked at my hand. It's neither dirty nor clean, I'm so confused. Chocolate stains, nuts, icing sugar and oreo all around my fingers and palm.

I woke up as early as 12pm ( I mean it's considered early to me.) I jumped into action with my towel, right into the shower. Instead of squeezing my toothpaste onto my toothbrush, I was squeezing it into my palm. I nearly used it for shampooing my hair. I'm glad I stopped when I sense something wrong.

Went to Suntec City with bf. He brought me to a Korean Restaurant. Ohhh, I love Seoul, I love Jeju. I miss their food so much like I'm going bonkers soon. Oh, especially the BBQ pork and beef. It's been a week since I'm back from Korea, I really wanted to eat their soy bean paste much. Soy bean paste reminds me of Uncle Soy. He cooked best soup and I had that for my breakfast every morning.

Bf made a booking @ Gaia. They had no website, but you can google it though.

We ordered Soy bean soup, spicy chicken, and topgraded beef for barbequeing. It's YUMMY.
Photobucket
The ambience was great. If there's not much crowd, you can sit somewhere between the walls so that you can have some quiet moment catching up with friends.
Photobucket
Photobucket

Their kimchi was nice though it wasn't as good as the ones in Korea. It's quite up to standard in my opinion.
Photobucket

Photobucket
I really love to BBQ their beef. I always grab my own veggies, add in onions, meat, paste, salt and rice. I'll wrapped it big and shuff it into my mouth. Mmm, I always had difficulty in shuffing them in. Haha, I'll use my fingers to push them in instead.
Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket
You can get a free complimentary cup of coffee before you leave. Anyway, the meal was awesome.

Next, we walked around Carrefour. I was looking out for some cheap oven. I was prepared to put aside 70 bucks when I saw one that cost only 25 bucks. Apparently, it's very small (you could tell from the price). I thought of buying it on the spot, but I'm just so broke to get it. Oh my gosh, my finance state was rather bad. I guess no one would approach me any further for credit card application. LOL.

I watched TRON. Oh ya, it's nice. Do watch it.

That's all for my Christmas celebration. It's really simple and peaceful.

Good day everyone.

Cheers,
Jeanne

Days without oven

24th December 2010 (Christmas Eve)

It's Christmas Eve and we spent our day together making cake and chocolates. Unfortunately, the 2 of us have no oven. We made an ovenless cake eventually. Instead of using the normal oven, we can replace it using steamer or maybe microwave. Get a right receipe then. I was browsing thru the internet when I found this recipe. Just follow the recipe and you can make a cake without an oven. Oleh to ovenless cooking, lol. Before I continue, let's get back to our normal routine.

We had breakfast @ Swensen. Well, they had only All-Day-Breakfast. I recommend you to be an early bird, make your way to Jurong Point and enjoy the authentic one instead. I believe Jurong Point is the only outlet that serves a greater variety of breakfast. All-Day-Breakfast is good too, but it's exp and you are given no other choices. JP outlet consists more variety and you can consider cheaper range as well. I mean it's not necessary to have expensive breakfast. $5 breakfast can be good as well. If it's good, it's good. If it's bad, no matter how expensive it is; it's still bad.

Our Breakfast @ Yishun Swensen

Photobucket
Stupid us, worried that the drinks might not be enough. We paid $5 for add-on. It turned out that we had 4 drinks each (below picture). And that excluded our Gloria Jeans Coffee.

Photobucket
It's Christmas Eve. It's really crowded everywhere. It's not just crowded only, but the quality sucks to the max as well. Yah, I know they are busy, but the soup is totally tasteless. Ok, just put the minestrone soup taste onto your tongue, let it linger around for a little while. You should recognised the taste. The swensen serve minestrone soup too, but it taste like some sardine fish sauce with extra water added. It's fucking disgusting. I never had such poor standard soup, oh I should say it's not edible instead.

Photobucket
The main dish was the best among all.

Photobucket

Photobucket
I ordered Rocky Chocolate but it turned out to be Durian Chocolate. What a special taste. I can't find an explanation for durian taste in my chocolate ice-cream. LOL.

Remember that I just mentioned about the lousy quality. Haiz, now I wanna talked about poor service. Not really that poor, I guess I had used the wrong description. Let me think; AHHH, it's no standard. The waitress served us twice, each time she would tremble terribly till the plates and glasses were shaking on her tray. It took her like 3 to 5 mins just to place my ice-cream on the table. By the time my ice-cream landed properly on the table, it melted. So sad. She even have difficulty in bending down.

Photobucket

We had a scrumptious brunch.

Next, we went all over the place to search for our ingredients. We went cold storage, bought abit here and there before we got to NTUC for the rest of the ingredients. To our surprise, there's no more cocoa powder, all out of stock. In the end, we replaced cocoa powder with Milo powder. We got to be flexible at time, you see. Even all-purpose-flour were off the rack. Thank goodness, I spotted one one the very bottom rack at NTUC, else we'll be buying plain flour, lol. I can totally imagine the consequences of using plain flour, it sure gonna be disastrous like hell.

We were confused by all kinds of flour. There were so many of them, from raising flour to white flour to plain flour; it's never ending. I studied 2 yrs of Home Economics, 2 yrs of F&N, yet I had no idea of the differences and purposes. What a loser I am.

Ovenless Cake

These were the very basic ingredients that we had used. We got no cocoa powder so we used Milo powder. It's kind of unbelievable. Yann looked stunned when I suggested Milo as replacement. She must have thought that I'm blabbering some nonsense again. LOL. I mean it's just flavour, there shouldn't make any much differences. Milo cake might just taste well too.

Photobucket

I was asking Tard for measuring cup. She stared at her ceiling in daze and bewilderment. She was wondering what measuring cup was. In fact, it's the cup we used to scoop rice usually. I can't cook for goodness sake, but I'm proud (grinning from ear to ear) to know what a measuring cup was. Hahaha.

Mixed the ingredients and stir to batter.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
Layer the tray with butter before pouring in the batter.

Photobucket

Photobucket
While waiting for the cake to be steamed, we butter out tiny little cups with butter.

Photobucket
It turned out well. As Tard's tray wa slightly bigger than usual, the cake was really thin. We cut it into quarters and stacked it into 4 layers thick. It's look so delicious. It's really plain to eat with nothing. We spread Nutella and placed walnut in the middle. We cooked caramel to spread it on the top layer. We decorate it and enhance the taste by adding Orea biscuits to it.

Photobucket

Photobucket
Milo cake.

We were making chocolate ( not disclosing recipe and way of making here, Tard know, I know). Not the chocolate as in toilet that kind. I mean the real chocolates. We were going nuts smelling like chocolate and steaming ourselves natutally. LOL. It's time for dinner, so we went out eventually.

Photobucket
We got some ingredients from NTUC after dinner. The chocolate buttons pack was expensive but we had no other choices. We got angry with ourselves for not buying more of the normal ones when we were at Northpoint. Hahaha, we ended up taking it out on Tard's ahem (someone). We seemed to have a fun time ranting and taking out on that someone. I pity him from heart, he's really an innocent party.

Our final chocolate product.

Photobucket

Cabbed home and hit the sack.

Good day everyone.

Cheers,
Jeanne

Day 3 in Korea, Jeju (Part 2)

2nd December 2010

I'm so sorry to break my post into different parts always. I had no choice because there are too many pictures. Each time I paste my code or type a few lines, my laptop will lag for a few seconds. I guess massive pictures could be the main cause of it. Anyway, do bear with it. Here I am, with Part 2. Yes, we are going for the Submarine Tour. There were 2 Submarine tour choices, we picked the slightly expensive one for it's good location. It's near to the Eros Museum which can save some cost in transport. I'm really looking forward to it as it's my first time in a Submarine. I'll never forget the experience.

Till then, I realised I had seasick. This had never occured to me before and I'm so shocked by my own reaction too. Yah, it's drizzling and we ran as fast as we could, before we hopped onto a cab. Here we go, to the pier. We got our tickets at our hotel conceirge. It's 70 bucks plus, after discount, it's only about 48 bucks I guess. It's been quite a while, I can't remember it that well either.

I'm drenched from head to toe. I thought the rain might damage my Zara coat since it's not waterproof. Thank God, it's fine. It dried up really fast. It's quite of good quality I guess.

Photobucket
For your information, there's nothing to eat here. Bf being naive thought there might be some food over here, so am I. In fact, we were wrong. BIG MISTAKE. There's nothing to eat over there. Let's not even think about warm and cozy restaurant, there isn't any foodcourt either. Basically, we were damn famished after running under quite a heavy rain. Could our mood be any better? I doubt so.

Tiny stalls (2 only) are all you can get over here. They got homemade sandwich, bread, chips, biscuit and hot coffee that could be expensive like mad. It's understandable since they monopolised the entire area. All the revenue plus earnings goes to them. Oh my goodness, I can linked marketing strategies with monopolies. LOL.

Guess what the FUCK I wanna say now?

Their burgers were matha-fucking disgusting.

I had no choice but to finish it. I had not had anything since the morning. There's no restaurant near Eros Musuem and we woke up later than the usual. Furthermore, we'll be taking the submarine later on, it's better to fill my tummy. Each time I swallowed the mouthful of sandwich, the urge to puke is god damn strong.

It's the most disgusting sandwich I ever had.

YUCKS!

Photobucket
I'm about to puke anytime.

Here's some picture.

Photobucket
This is the waiting area before boarding. The alignment made me thought of some clinic or consultation area. It's just so CLINIC.

This is where you could purchase your boarding pass.

Photobucket

Photobucket
My boots were wet. I'm glad no water sipped into my shoes. Else the weather being cold might freeze them anytime.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Being random, we took shots of hotel key.

Photobucket

The crowd was coming in.

Photobucket

To my surprise, the captain could speak english here. No worries for travellers. *Thumbs up, yeah* They gave us quite alot of attention upon knowing we were travellers when we spoke english.

Photobucket

Yeah, my most excited moment had arrived. TIME FOR BOARDING.

Photobucket
We boarded a small ferry that would bring us to the submarine.

Photobucket

Photobucket

This is almost the same as the one I took to Batam with Yann. I'm not sure if the waves and current was stronger or not, I just felt very giddy. Ok, you can say giddier than the usual rides. I had the strong urge to vommit. I tried my best to control, thinking this would be over soon once I reached the submarine, hell no, I'm wrong.

Photobucket

Sorry, not much scenic photo since the weather was bad.

Photobucket
Yes, that was the submarine (below). We got to climb a flight of stairs to the bottom of the submarine. Oh it's not stairs, I guess I got to call it a ladder instead. I'm wearing heels and it's so hard to climb down because I hardly felt anything beneath my shoes. The helpful staff grab my foot and made sure it's secured on the ladder before I continue the next steps. They are so kind.

Photobucket
Here we are in the submarine.

Photobucket
We got 45 metres to the bottom on the seabed. It's so cool.

Photobucket

While moving downward, my seasick worsen. I might puke anytime. So far, I managed to control by searching for fishes as distraction. It helps so far.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Here, you'll be able to see on the TV as the submarine goes into the water.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

You will get to see beautiful corals and fishes. It's rather hard to take good picture in the submarine, therefore I took some videos for myself too. The fishes swam pass the glass, it's all so beautiful and lovely, I can say.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

The ride lasted for 45 minutes.

Photobucket

At the end of the day, they will give you a photo as complimentary. This is something I like about this ride. They took picture for you, chose the best shot among 3, made sure your eyes don't blink and semi-closed. They printed not just one copy, but one for each passengers. How nice?

It's totally worth the price!!!

Photobucket

Photobucket

That's a beautiful bridge. You know what?

During my trip, it made me realised how small SG was. It made me felt as though I was a frog living in a deep deep well. Each time, they build a new bridge, or a ferris wheel, people just got very excited over it. The truth is, there's no need for such excitement. Such things are everywhere in Korea, and other countries. I always thought SG has many beautiful bridges till I'm in Korea. You can easily spot 3 to 5 of them which could be 10 times larger/longer.I'm so glad that I got a chance to get close to such interesting exposures.

Photobucket

The bridge.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
We wanted to take a bus back to our hotel since we cabbed here. There wasn't any bus stop in sight. We approached one of the captain. Woah, he could speak good english. It was nice of him to get his car and sent us the the bus stop personally (There were just the both of us in the car). He send us to the bus stop (quite a distance actually) and taught us what bus to board. Isn't he friendly?

If you were going on Free & Easy. Approached them, I guess they would have done the same thing.

Photobucket

The bus fare was just 1500 won.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I'm so glad that we got back to our hotel. I'm still suffering from seasick though I had alight. The thought of the disgusting sandwich in my tummy, digesting in process disgusted me even further.

What's next?

I VOMMIT!!!

WTF, it's so disgusting!!!

Photobucket

What's up next?

We headed to Lotte World Hotel. It's mad expensive, but if you can afford; you might wish to stay there. It's poise and all the staffs could speak good english. It has all the amenitites like shopping or even entertainment. As for us, we went to the CASINO.

We played Jackpot, mmm won alittle bit bit (which went to our dinner, lol) We were there for quite long, I guess. A few hours or even longer. LOL.

Photobucket

Photobucket
The Casino.

Photobucket
It was then we got famish. We went for our dinner. I had bibimbap while bf had his soybean soup with seafood. We went back to Casino again. LOL. Addictive gamblers. It doesn't matter anyway, we aren't underage. We went into the Casino openly.

I had come to an end of Day 3.

Have a nice day. Hope you enjoy reading.
